Well Spring didn't last! Winter returned with snow, hail and sleet, and cold easterly winds. However, that didn't deter the hardier souls and we saw our first swallow 2 days ago.

D. Hynd had 2 for 8lbs and released 6 in a four hour session, all on lures and Bruce Hunter, Edinburgh, had a beauty of 11lbs again on a black lure. Chick Stewart had 11 on tadpoles  and A. Rowley 14 on damsels. J. Hay, Haddington, had an 11lber on a lure and Jim Skilling, Shotts, took 16 on c/r on his "Shaggy Blob"! Derek Powell from Prestonpans had a cracking day on c/r with 13 on crunchers but Mattie Devine, Hadston, beat that with 16 on buzzers and damsels. Keith Watson, Alnwick, had 3 for 15lb on lures and c/r another 15. Tommy Dickson, Dunbar, took two crackers on cdc's, 16lb 12oz and 11lb 8oz respectively. Edinburgh regular Steve Rodger had 9 and 10 on c/r for his two outings on hot head damsels. A 5.5lb brown fell to a buzzer fished by Angus Barnett, whilst A. Bruce, Edinburgh, took 3 for 13lb on a yellow dancer.

A couple of early season brown trout to whet the appetite!
